TAP, using the Airbus A321neo LR, which provides long-range flights, will fly to the northeast of Brazil, offering a connection with Europe. Changes to the company's routes took place on Monday (November 1). Connecting flights from Europe to Maceió have already started, while flights to Natal will restart today, after a year and seven months of break due to the pandemic.
Flights with a stopover in Recife and destined for Maceió will take place twice a week, on Mondays and Saturdays. Flights between Lisbon and Natal will have three weekly frequencies, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Domestic flights have already recovered their pre-pandemic demand almost completely, while international flights have suffered more from pandemic restrictions. TAP's new flights represent the gradual return of international travel, with all measures against covid still in force, such as the use of alcohol gel and the mandatory use of masks inside airports.
