Last Monday, 15th, Dassault Aviation formalized the contract for a batch of 30 Rafales with Egypt.
In May 2021, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense reached an agreement with France for the purchase of 30 jets of the model, to complete the 24 units of the jet from the last contract of 2015, being 8 units of the Rafale EM (single-seat) and 16 units of the Rafale DM (bi-seat).
“In a demanding geopolitical context, Egypt chose Rafale to ensure its role as a key player on the regional and international stage with full sovereignty,” said Éric Trappier, President and CEO of Dassault Aviation.
The formalization of the agreement shows that fighter production has already started, as well as a financial commitment agreement between Dassault Aviation and Egypt.
With this, the fleet of Rafales of the Egyptian Air Force is 53 aircraft. The new batch is expected to be delivered from the beginning of 2024.
Egypt's commitment to A Dassault Aviation remains strong as Egypt has already reported its interest in the F4-R version of the Rafale.
