The pandemic situation forced flights (mainly international ones) to stop. However, they are picking up. With TAAG Angola Airlines it is no different. The company, which already flew to Brazil on sporadic flights, will now make regular flights between Luanda and São Paulo as of January 2nd.

The Angolan company had already planned its regular return to São Paulo, but the pandemic did not allow flights, so the company canceled the route at the beginning of March this year.

The flights will take place on two frequencies a week, according to data from the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac). The Boeing 777-300ER is the aircraft of choice for the operation.

The resumption is important for TAAG, which remains very affected, as, according to the CEO, Rui Carreira, it operates with only 25% to 30% of its capacity. The company transported only 300 thousand passengers in 2020. Before the pandemic, in 2019, there were more than 1 million and 500 thousand.
