The sad accident with the Beechcraft King Air C90 with five occupants, two pilots and three passengers, among them the singer Marília Mendonça, has been under investigation since the day of the incident, on November 5, in Piedade de Caratinga (MG).
The most recent expert report, which came out yesterday, 11/25, and was released by the Civil Police of Minas Gerais (PCMG), points to the cause of death, which was due to the impact of the aircraft on the ground.
Although the causes of the accident are not known, Ivan Lopes Sales, who is presiding over the police inquiry, said that some hypotheses should be discarded, such as the possibility that the aircraft was hit by a firearm, or a sudden illness on the part of the pilot and the co-pilot.
In addition, minutes after the aircraft involved took off, another aircraft left Viçosa for Caratinga. The pilot even communicated with Marília's aircraft and said that no mechanical problem was reported in the plane.
What is known is that the plane was about to land, about “a minute to a minute and a half” from landing, when it probably collided with the electrical network. However, Sales said that, so far, the accident cannot be attributed to the company responsible for the electricity network.
The Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (CENIPA) has yet to investigate whether there was any technical problem on the plane.
