Due to the pandemic, Latam Brasil, as well as other operators, canceled many routes. Among them, the important one for the company, between the hub of São Paulo and Milan. The route was resumed this Wednesday after a 21-month hiatus.

In addition to being important for the company, the resumption of this route represents the first connection between Brazil and Italy since the pandemic began.

The flights will be with three frequencies a week. The aircraft chosen for the route will be the largest in Latam's fleet, the Boeing 777-300, with capacity for up to 410 passengers divided into three classes.

"We had a huge demand as soon as we started flights," said João Murias, LATAM's regional commercial director. “The flights are already booked”.

Despite the success of the route, there is no forecast for an increase in frequencies until at least February 2022.

“We are proud to receive the only direct flight from Italy to South America, an important sign of a return to normality”, celebrated Andrea Tucci, vice president of Aviation Business Development at SEA, the group that manages Milan airports .
