Azul, one of the largest Brazilian airlines, must renew its entire fleet. The focus of this renovation is on efficiency. Among the most important points for the company are: environmental impact and operating cost. According to the company's analysis, the jets that can fulfill these functions in their category are the Airbus A320neo and A321neo and the Embraer E2 line.
“The transformation of the fleet into state-of-the-art aircraft will provide a significant margin expansion in the coming years”, according to Azul. Within two years, the company expects to have replaced 83% of its aircraft with the latest generation models.
The company's focus on the environment is aimed at zero carbon emissions by 2045. The company has plans to use electric aircraft such as the eVTOL. For this, the company entered into a partnership with a German company to acquire the aircraft. The trams must start operations by 2025.
In addition to the new aircraft, Azul supports the use of SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) and carbon offsetting initiatives to achieve emission neutrality by 2045.
Azul expects to save $1 billion on its domestic fleet over the next 12 months with the arrival of the first new planes.
