Desaer, a national startup that received this name in 2017 and is formed by people who have already worked with aeronautical development, announced yesterday (7) its new turboprop project, called the ATL-300.
The aircraft was presented during the 6th edition of Mostra BID Brasil, a fair for military items in Brasília (DF) and will compete in the same segment as the ATR-42. The ATL-300 will be able to carry up to 40 passengers or 4 tons of cargo.
This is the second aircraft designed by Desaer, the first being the ATL-100. The company's CEO, Evandro Fileno, stated that the ATL-300 should complement the capabilities of the ATL-100.
“[The ATL-300] It's a more advanced plane, with a pressurized cabin and retractable landing gear. In common are two high-wing and highly versatile aircraft proposed for civil or military use. They are ideal planes to operate on semi-prepared runways and at airports with little structure”, says the CEO.
“The configuration of the ATL-300 is based on the needs of some airlines and armed forces. We have already talked to Brazilian and US companies and the acceptance was very good.”
The plane is expected to fly at 31,000 feet (9448 m), have a cruise speed of 520 km/h and a range of 2600 km. The plane's first flight is expected to take place in 2026, while operations could begin in 2027. In addition, the ATL-300 is valued at 21 million dollars.
Both the ATL-300 and ATL-100 are designed to be very versatile aircraft, which can be used for both civil and military purposes. According to Fileno, the planes are ideal for operating on complicated runways with little structure.
