According to Governor João Dória, the state may require a vaccination passport against covid as of December 16 at the airports of Guarulhos, Viracopos and Congonhas. The Port of Santos may also require the document.

The measure would come into effect if the federal government does not adopt the vaccine passport by December 15 and would be responsible for the majority of international travelers arriving in Brazil, as the three airports currently serve two-thirds of flights of this type.

Unsurprisingly, Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga showed his denial stance by saying that fighting the pandemic is not just a document that causes more discord than consensus.

For Queiroga, citizens of countries that have identified the new variants should not be punished with restrictions.

The federal government announced yesterday that it will require a five-day quarantine for international travelers who are not vaccinated against covid-19. After quarantine, travelers must perform an RT-PCR test with a negative result.

On the other hand, the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) recommends the adoption of the passport.
