The Itapemirim Group suspended the flights of Ita, the group's airline, last night. According to the announcement, the suspension is temporary and the company must undergo some adjustments before resuming its flights. The airline had made its first flight just six months ago.

The Company went through crises from the beginning. With late wages, late meal vouchers and late benefits often, the suspension of the employees' health plan was even the target of a lawsuit filed by the National Aeronauts Union (SNA).

Some employees even complained that severance pay was not being paid to the fired. In addition, in December, the company split the payment of employees in two installments.

Countless customers had their flights canceled suddenly, which generated many complaints since the beginning of the company's operations. There are many complaints from passengers with problems related to the reversal of the value of tickets. The company claims that it had to readjust the flights due to the postponement of the arrival of new planes.

In addition, the company was fined by the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) three times in October and November for not delivering mandatory operational data within the deadline. The company says that the data was duly corrected and delivered on December 10th.

The Itapemirim Group is undergoing a long process of judicial recovery. According to data collected by UOL, the company already owed 253 million reais to its creditors in September and 2.2 billion reais in tax debts.

Despite all the financial and legal problems in which the group is involved, the owner of the group, Sidnei Piva de Jesus, opened an offshore company this year in the United Kingdom, with capital of approximately 6 billion reais. The proposal is to act as a holding company for financial services and investment funds. Would you invest? It is, to say the least, suspicious.

Such indifference that passengers only knew minutes before boarding, at the airport. In a statement, ITA states that it "regrets the inconvenience caused" and that it will provide assistance to injured passengers.

Anac, which was communicated before the suspension of flights yesterday, said that Ita must inform all passengers about the cancellation of flights, as well as immediately provide support to all affected passengers, communicating individually about the cancellation of flights and re-accommodations. The company must also pay reimbursement for the tickets sold.
