United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), a Russian company responsible for the development of aircraft, is developing a virtual reality simulator for the Su-35 and Su-57.
The purpose of the simulator is to train pilots and technical personnel involved with the fighters, including system maintenance.
The virtual reality simulator recreates in detail all the planes' systems. In this way, the fighters can be studied by all personnel on the ground, allowing to recreate real situations and the processes involved to increase the efficiency in the real life aircraft.
“The new VR simulator will provide aircraft technicians with improved practical skills. The complex is intended to test the maintenance processes of fifth-generation Su-57 and fourth-generation Su-35 aircraft,” said Vladimir Artyakov, deputy general director of Rostec State Corporation, the company that controls UAC.
The system is being developed by Sukhoi technical experts. Tests with the equipment should be completed in 2022. The system will help reduce maintenance costs as well as the time required for the task.
