Swiss International Airlines has made vaccination against covid-19 mandatory. Now, not only passengers who fly with the company need to be vaccinated, but employees as well.
Implemented in August of last year, staff should be vaccinated by November 15th. If the employee refused the immunization, he could be fired.
Vaccination remains the best weapon against the pandemic that we have, however, mandatory vaccine policies have caused many discussions. And as expected, company employees who refused immunization were terminated.
So, this week, the company announced the hiring of new employees. In fact, the recruitment is not only due to employees who left because of the vaccine, but the company also went through early retirements, thus being left with fewer employees than expected.
“To meet projected staffing needs, SWISS will recruit new cabin crew members in the triple-digit range throughout this year. We are delighted to be once again creating many jobs and welcoming these new colleagues on board,” the company said in a statement.
In addition, the company is rehiring employees who were laid off during the pandemic.
