NATO fighter jets intercept Russian fighter jets during Baltic Sea escort

Two Russian Su-35 fighter jets and two MiG-31 were intercepted by F-15 fighter jets while flying over the Baltic Sea yesterday, 3. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) confirmed the information this Friday, 4/2.
The interception occurred because Russian aircraft did not present a flight plan and did not make contact with air traffic. According to NATO, Russian fighters were escorting a Tupolev Tu-154.
NATO says Russian aircraft do not enter Allied airspace at any time, and that Russian pilots acted in a safe and professional manner.
Russia, which is against Ukraine joining NATO. Russian aircraft have been spotted in the region. The day before (2/2), Luftforsvaret (Norwegian Air Force) and Royal Air Force (British Air Force) aircraft intercepted Russian aircraft flying over the Barents and North Seas on Wednesday (2).
