Eve, from Embraer, started the process to obtain the eVTOL Type Certificate (CT) from Anac (National Civil Aviation Agency). This certification ensures that all legal airworthiness requirements for flying the vehicle safely are met.
According to Embraer, the eVTOL must obtain the Type Certificate for an aircraft classified as “normal category”, in accordance with the Brazilian Civil Aviation Regulation (RBAC) No. 23 and the requirements of the ANAC.
“It is an important moment, which demonstrates the company's commitment to pioneering the future of urban air mobility. The process that begins aims to achieve the best security standards, in order to allow eVTOL access to the global market. From a regulatory point of view, there is a lot of work to be done, not only in relation to aircraft technology, but in defining the entire ecosystem. Brazil has the conditions and commitment to deal with this challenge”, said Roberto Honorato, Superintendent of Airworthiness at ANAC.
“Eve, with the support of ANAC, will continue the interactions with the main foreign aeronautical authorities, soon formalizing the Type Certificate validation process in accordance with its global business strategy,” Embraer said in a statement.
The technology director of Eve, Luiz Felipe R. Valentini, the certification process is already taking place at ANAC, the officialization only gives continuity to the certification.
The eVTOL promises to be an urban mobility solution designed for the passenger, offering comfort, zero emissions, low noise and agility in transport.
