With the reopening of Oceania's borders, Latam will resume its flights from Sydney to Santiago, via Auckland, on March 29.
Initially there will be three flights per week, with plans to increase to five by July, when New Zealand lifts all of its travel restrictions.
Passengers who start and finish their flights in Australia are not eligible to enter New Zealand for the time being. The restrictions will not be completely lifted until July.
Meanwhile, the government has a five-step plan for reopening from February 28.
“We look forward to restarting flights between New Zealand and Chile and once again connecting passengers with all the adventures and beauty that South America has to offer,” said Latam Oceania manager Christopher Ellis.
Latam interrupted services between Auckland and Santiago at the end of March 2020. The route will resume after two years.
Qantas, Latam's competitor in the connection with Oceania, still does not have a forecast to resume flights in the region.
