Guarulhos airport, on the 15th, registered an incident. A Gol Boeing 737 MAX, registration PP-XMR, had to go around moments before landing because of a business jet that entered the protected area, threatening the safety of the landing.
Protected area, according to the Brazilian Civil Aviation Regulation (RBAC) 153, is the area of ""the runway and certain spaces around the runway on both sides. RBAC 154 delimits the space required for the runway holding position.
When an aircraft, vehicle or person enters the protected area, it is characterized as a runway incursion.
Gol's Boeing 737 MAX was about to land at threshold 09R of the Guarulhos runway, when it was surprised. Check out the video in the external link below.
As soon as the air traffic controller at Torre de Guarulhos became aware of the Learjet 40 on the runway, an order for the Boeing to go around was given.
As much as the Learjet has not actually entered the runway, the mere fact of entering the protected area already configures a situation in which a go-around is mandatory to eliminate the risk of a collision.
After a safe go-around by the Gol plane, the Learjet, which until then had no authorization to be there, was allowed to cross the runway.
