The first two A319neo units were delivered on the 19th to China Southern Airlines. The aircraft are expected to enter service in July this year.
Thus, the airline becomes the first to operate the jets, which received CFM International LEAP-1A engines and a configuration of 136 passengers, 4 in business class, 24 in premium economy and 108 in economy class.
The Airbus jet competes with other regional ones, such as the Embraer E2 and the Airbus A220 itself. The A319neo has a range of 6950 km, slightly longer than its brother A220, with 6112 km. However, the A220 has more interesting operating costs.
The A220 family has more than 700 firm orders, compared to only about 70 for the A319neo.
