Following in the footsteps of other countries, the United Arab Emirates eased restrictions on the entry of travelers coming from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Thus, these travelers will no longer have to take a quick covid test before departure.
Before the new rules, passengers arriving from these countries in Abu-Dhabi and Dubai had to take a quick covid test before boarding, at the airport itself, forcing travelers to have to arrive well in advance.
With the new rules much more convenient, travelers must take a PCR test within 48 hours of departure and self-isolate in quarantine until they receive a negative result. In addition, passengers must perform another test upon disembarkation.
The milder measures are due to the fact that more and more people are vaccinated and, consequently, the cases of the disease are decreasing.
However, Dubai airport is often just a stop on travel. In this case, the traveler is restricted by the rules of the government of his place of destination.
Airlines flying to these locations were quick to warn travelers via their social media.
