Lufthansa Cargo made its first commercial flight with the Airbus A321 freighter converted from passenger to freighter yesterday, 15th. Flight LH8350 departed Frankfurt (FRA) for Dublin (DUB) before flying to Manchester (MAN).

“Lufthansa Cargo can now offer its customers same-day e-commerce delivery solutions in Europe and to selected medium-haul destinations. The new aircraft will serve a wide range of customers and routes, both scheduled and chartered,” said Lufthansa Cargo CEO Dorothea von Boxberg.

Demand in the freight market continues to increase, so the narrowbody will complement Lufthansa Cargo's global route network.

The A321F will fly to Dublin and Manchester, as well as Istanbul (IST), Tel Aviv (TLV), Malta (MLA) and Tunis (TUN). From March 29, the plane will fly to Cairo (CAI) as well.

The plane was converted in Singapore in a seven-month service. With a maximum payload of 28 tons, the aircraft offers a range of 3500 kilometers. In addition, Airbus allows for fast loading and unloading, improving the efficiency of operations.
