According to ANAC data published today, the average price of air tickets was R$494.01, representing an increase of 19.28% from the value practiced in 2020, when the value was R$414.15. The data also show that the increase was the highest for a one-year period since 2008, when the increase was 37.82%.

One of the main costs for airlines that directly influences the price of tickets is aviation kerosene. The increase of almost 92% in the average price of fuel during the year, together with the 40% growth in demand and supply of air transport were identified as the main causes of high prices, as well as the increase in the value of the dollar against the real.

When the data are presented by airlines, Azul presented the highest average ticket value, R$562.66. Then Gol, with R$481.76 and Latam, with R$444.90.
