Bombardier confirmed today that it has canceled orders from oligarchs and Russian companies for its business jets. The move could benefit Bombardier's customers as, without Russian orders, orders from its other customers could be expedited.
Demand for business jets is on the rise all over the world. Bombardier's fleet registered by Russian operators reaches 240 aircraft.
Bombardier CEO Eric Martel said the company is following the sanctions against Russia imposed by Canada and other Western countries.
However, some Russian millionaires manage to evade the sanctions. The fortune of ten billionaires increased by about US$ 8.3 billion in a single day, after the opening of the Russian stock exchange, with oil and natural gas trading.
In any case, the world's major manufacturers continue to block sales and support for Russian aircraft.
