This Sunday (03/27), Rio de Janeiro gained a connection with Munich, Germany. The new Lufthansa route, operated from RIOgaleão, will have five weekly frequencies. The novelty marks the company's schedule for the European summer.
The capital of Bavaria is located in Southeast Germany and has the airport considered a hub of the continent, which means that it offers connections with other destinations, in addition to being the only 5-star airport in Europe.

In addition, Lufthansa will no longer operate the Rio-Frankfurt route, while the new route will be operated by the Airbus A350-900. Airbus consumes around 2.5 liters of kerosene per passenger per 100 kilometers flown, representing up to 25% more savings than aircraft of the same category.
Committed to the environment and with the goal of achieving zero CO2 emissions by 2050, Lufthansa intends to reduce emissions by using the A350.
“We are excited to offer our customers in Rio de Janeiro not only the most modern and sustainable aircraft in the Lufthansa fleet, the Airbus A350-900, but also a direct connection to our Munich hub, the only 5-star airport in Europe and a gateway to a world of travel opportunities in Germany and beyond,” said Felipe Bonifatti, Lufthansa Group Airline General Manager for South America
