Today Lilium announced its next phase of testing its eVTOL with the 5th generation demonstrator, the Phoenix 2. The announcement of the tests follows the first successful test flight in Germany last year.
At the ATLAS Flight Test Center, Lilium plans to conduct a full flight test campaign, including full transition and high-speed flight. In addition, there are already plans for yet another demonstration aircraft, the Phoenix 3, which should arrive in Spain for the first test flight this summer.
“We are excited to start our next phase of flight tests in Spain. This step takes us even closer to achieving our goal of creating a sustainable and affordable mode of high-speed, low-noise regional air mobility,” said Daniel Wiegand, co-founder and CEO of Lilium.
Lilium has partnered with large companies to develop this project, including Azul Linhas Aéreas.
