All 125 passenger aircraft operated by Rossiya Airlines were transferred to Russia's aviation registry last week.
The move is expected to help the carrier continue flying foreign planes leased under the Russian flag and ensure air connectivity in remote regions of the country.
The airline also highlighted that the procedure for registering the aircraft was carried out in accordance with Russian aviation law.
"Obtaining a Russian airworthiness certificate will allow the airline to continue using the fleet of foreign-made aircraft under the country's national flag to organize uninterrupted air communication with remote regions," said a spokesperson for Rossiya Airlines.
The spokesperson highlighted that the company has all the necessary documentation and that the aircraft are regularly maintained by highly qualified personnel.
On March 22, 2022, Russian Transport Minister Vitaly Savelyev told Russian media that nearly 800 of the 1,367 aircraft operated by Russian carriers have already been transferred to the country.
On the other hand, 78 jets leased by Russian airlines were seized in foreign countries and will not be returned.
Rossiya Airlines operates a diversified fleet consisting of jets from the Airbus A320, Boeing 737, Boeing 777, Boeing 747 and SSJ 100 family made in Russia.
