UK carrier Jet2 exercised six purchase rights for the Airbus A321neo, bringing the number of firm orders to 57. If all the purchase options of the agreement are exercised, the company can extend its order to 75 units of the jet. Deliveries are expected to take place between 2026 and 2029.

The Jet2 fleet has copies of the Boeing 737 and 757. But the order for 36 Airbus A321neo jets, originally placed in August 2021, separates the airline from Boeing. In October 2021, Jet2 ordered 15 more jets of the model, bringing the total firm orders to 51.

In view of the relaxation of restrictions, the company says it has been investing heavily and has 14% more seating capacity for the summer of 2022 than it was for 2019.

Another favorable point for the company is that its aviation fuel expenses are 95% covered for the summer of 2022 and 65% covered for the winter 22/23.

Preliminary results for the year ended March 31, 2022 will be published on July 7, 2022.
