According to IATA (International Air Transport Association), air travel around the world had a strong recovery in February 2022 compared to January 2022. There was almost 116% more demand in February 2022 than in February 2021 .
Despite the significant improvement, traffic is still 45.5% lower compared to February 2019, before the pandemic. Domestic traffic rose the most, recovering 78.2% from pre-pandemic levels, while international traffic, only 40.4%
In Brazil, domestic traffic increased by 32.5% in February 2022, when compared to 2021, but was below the recovery recorded in January, which was 35.5%.
“The recovery in air travel is gaining momentum as governments across the world lift travel restrictions,” said Willie Walsh, Director General of IATA.
