On Thursday (28) Embraer released its financial results for the first quarter of 2022. Despite the stoppage in January of this year, the company reduced its net loss compared to recent quarters.

However, net revenue was R$3,076.1 million, lower than in the first quarter of 2021, when it was R$4,452.1 million. The backlog (value of firm orders) recorded its highest value since Q2 2018.

"Despite the challenges, we delivered important results in the first quarter", said Gomes Neto, president of Embraer. The deliveries of executive and commercial jets, however, were "a little below expectations", he adds.

The deliveries had a negative result due to the company's one-month shutdown to reintegrate the commercial aviation business, which was separated from the rest of the company during negotiations with Boeing.

Gomes Neto also spoke about the merger between Eve and Spac Zanite and the company's listing on the New York Stock Exchange, which should take place in mid-May.

The trend for the future is positive for the coming months. Net revenue should grow, fixed costs should be diluted, interest payments on financial commitments should be reduced and tax efficiency should be recovered with the legal reintegration of commercial aviation systems.

Also, the cash flow estimate for the second quarter of 2022 may be revised upwards.

Embraer's financial vice president highlighted that there are still important challenges, such as the lack of qualified labor in some countries and the shortage of semiconductors, which, according to him, has not yet affected Embraer.
