Last Monday, the 2nd, Embraer sold, announced since January, the subsidiaries Embraer Metálicas and Embraer Compostos, in Évora, Portugal, to Aernnova for US$ 174 million (R$ 885 million).
The companies sold have 500 employees and approximately 70,000 square meters, and were active in the production of components for wings and vertical and horizontal stabilizers for Embraer's aeronautical programs, such as the Praetor 500 and 600 executive planes and the KC-290 Millenium.
The deal strengthens Aernnova as a premier supplier for single-aisle aircraft, putting the company ahead of the curve in the defense and business aircraft markets.
Embraer stated that, even after the sale, it will maintain its strategic commitment to Portugal, continuing its technological development cooperation project signed in March between idD Portugal and ETI.
