On Wednesday (11), the Italian company ITA received its first Airbus A350-900. The widebody was welcomed in Rome, Italy.
With the receipt, ITA Airways became the 40th operator of the A350 in the world. The plane became the aircraft with the greatest capacity and autonomy of the Italian company, as it replaced the old Boeing 777 from Alitalia, its predecessor.
The plane came from Shannon, Ireland, where it took about two and a half hours.
The Jet is configured in two classes, with 334 seats in total, 33 in business class and 301 in economy.
The ITA Airways A350 will begin service in early June 2022, serving the new intercontinental routes that the company will open in the summer season from Roma Fiumicino to Los Angeles, Buenos Aires and São Paulo.
In December 2021, the company placed a firm order for 18 single-aisle Airbus aircraft (seven A220 and 11 A320neo) and 10 widebody aircraft (A330neo).
