Bombardier's newest jet was launched this Monday, the 23rd. The executive jet is called Global 8000. The jet's maximum speed is 1151 km/h (Mach 0.94).
The jet also has the longest range in the world at 8000 nautical miles (14816 km). The company says it will be the fastest and longest-range business jet ever produced. The maximum flight altitude is 51,000 feet.
The demo took place last year with the previous version (global 7500). The aircraft, accompanied by an F/A-18 fighter, reached speeds of Mach 1015, breaking the sound barrier. The test was celebrated, as it is the fastest commercial jet ever produced after the Concorde in the 1970s. Furthermore, the plane reached that speed using SAF.
The Global 8000 will be a larger option in the Global lineup, complementing the 6500 and 7500. For comparison, the Global 8000 has 15 windows, while the 7500 has 14.
In addition to these attributes, the jet stands out for its sustainability. "The Global 8000 leverages the outstanding attributes of the Global 7500 aircraft, providing our customers with a flagship aircraft of a new era," said CEO Éric Martel.
The four suites available on the jet are designed to maximize available space, as well as passenger comfort, including the lighting system that promises to help combat jet lag. The customer can configure the cabin with a double bed and a bathroom with a heated shower.
In addition, the plane can be configured with a living room and TV, a meeting room and a suite.
The revealed configurations are part of the GE Aviation Passport 20 engines and a Fly-By-Wire control. The plane is expected to enter service in 2025.
