According to information released yesterday (30) from the Federal Police's International Traffic System (STI), the number of foreigners in Brazil was 962,000 people, which is 60% higher than the 596,700 observed throughout the year of 2021.
If the number of the first 4 months of 2022 is compared with the first four months of 2021, the difference is even greater: there are 685% more foreigners in 2022. In addition, there are other indicators that the numbers are improving, such as the increase of the air network and the increase in tourist expenses.
According to Anac (National Civil Aviation Agency), the average monthly flights in April 2022 was 1983, which represents an increase of 200% when compared to the same period in 2021.
In another study, done by Globaldata, a data analysis and consulting company, Brazil, along with the other countries in South and Central America, could resume the levels of international travel seen before the pandemic by 2024.
There may even be an increase in the sector of the order of 0.89% compared to the pre-pandemic period. In 2025, the number would be 2.07% higher in Brazil.
In other countries around the world, travel recovery will take place completely by 2025.
“The sector's recovery scenario is increasingly clear and we are intensifying our actions with campaigns, presence at fairs and international events, in addition to other articulations”, says Embratur's president, Silvio Nascimento.
