An agreement signed today between Latam and Air Lease Corporation provides for the lease of Airbus A321neo jets by the airline. The agreement deals with the lease of three units of the jet, which should be delivered from July 2023.

Latam will use its new planes to expand its routes and for fleet renewal, as the new Airbus A321neo can be configured with up to 240 seats.

Adding all the South American subsidiaries, Latam has 50 Airbus A321s of the previous generation, called A321ceo, with up to 224 passengers.

The engine chosen must be the PW1000G, which was chosen for the company's Airbus A320neo. There is also the option of CFM LEAP engines.

The new engine and the changes present in the A321neo make the plane attractive to companies, as it has a lower operating cost due to savings of up to 30% in fuel. In addition, the plane generates less carbon emissions and has greater range.
