An airworthiness directive (AD) issued by Anac (National Civil Aviation Agency) published on May 30 requires the control software for the first generation Embraer E190/195 and E170/175 jets to be updated. In some cases, with a combination of factors, altitude data may be displayed incorrectly.
“A case of uncommanded selection of a barometric correction parameter in both primary displays (PFD) was found in the field due to the design of the data communication architecture of the Control I/O modules, between the displays controller and the data system. of the air”, reads the AD.
Anac points out that the condition can lead to wrong decision-making in critical phases of the flight, being an unsafe condition.
AD requires installation of the latest versions of Honeywell's Primus EPIC software.
All aircraft must undergo this maintenance, except for those that already have the updated version of the software. The deadline for installing the new version is 18 months.
