The Russian press service announced that Sukhoi and MiG have completed their merger with United Aircraft Corporation, a member of the state-owned Rostec corporation.

Founded in 2006, Rostec has more than 700 companies in Russia such as Ilyushin, Irkut, Tupolev and Yakovlev, including almost the entire military complex in the country.

The merger had already been approved in November 2021, being supported by shareholders in January 2022.

Although the merger was concluded for legal purposes on June 1, the management of the companies was already centralized. The companies had been working at the same facility since March.

UAC Director General Yuri Slyusar says the companies will continue to create aircraft of the future, including unmanned systems and hybrid solutions.

“The reorganization completes one of the important stages of UAC's corporate transformation, which involves, among other things, the transition from a three-tier corporate management structure to a two-tier corporate management structure. At the same time, the strong and world-renowned Sukhoi and MiG brands will remain and authorized design schools will continue to develop", quotes Rostec CEO Sergei Chemezov.
