Russian Sukhoi superJet and MC-21 aircraft to be certified soon

Last Friday, the 3rd, during a visit to the Sukhoi/Irkut facilities, Yuri Borisov, Russian Deputy Prime Minister, spoke about advances in Russian aviation.
“The MC-21 and Superjet programs are moving forward consistently despite sanctions and unfair competition. Completion of the certification of the domestically-engined MS-21 aircraft and the Sukhoi Superjet with the replacement of 38 Russian-imported systems and components is planned for before the end of 2023,” Borisov said at the meeting.
The MC-21 is a domestic production aircraft intended to replace the Tupolev Tu-154 and Tu-204/214 aircraft. The plane must be an alternative to the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737. The plane's engine will have to be national, as the Pratt
