The air cargo sector continues to grow strongly, and Emirates SkyCargo, following the market trend, has just received another Boeing 777-200F. The new aircraft, registration A6-EFU, brings Emirates' total freighter aircraft to 11 Boeing 777F units.
Emirates SkyCargo was the launch customer for the Boeing 777F and, since 2009, the model has been in service with the company. The company says transported cargo can be delivered faster and more efficiently to the more than 140 destinations it serves.
The additional cargo capacity that the plane will bring to the company will be necessary to meet the growing demand. For example, in China, a destination served by Emirates SkyCargo, the market is one of the fastest growing. As of this week, Shanghai will be served with six direct flights, Beijing with two and Guangzhou with four, totaling more than 400 tonnes transported.
Emirates SkyCargo also carries cargo in the holds of Emirates passenger planes such as the Boeing 777 and Airbus A380.
Emirates is focused on growth, planning to convert ten more Boeing 777s from passengers to freighters, increasing its dedicated cargo fleet to 21 by 2026.
