Last Tuesday, 5th, the ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency) released an ASO (Operational Safety Alert) for the entire civil aviation community, focusing on aircraft owners, operators and crew, on the risk of interference of 5G on aircraft radio altimeters.
ANAC already had studies carried out with telecommunications companies, including Anatel. Thus, some limitations on 5G were imposed preventively in regions close to airfields as specified in an Anatel Act published at the end of last month.
The 5G signal was released yesterday, 6th, in Brasília, and should reach other capitals by the end of the year.
Anac will continue to monitor the matter with Anatel, and the Act should be reviewed by the end of the year.
In the ASO, Anac recommends that pilots report via email any suspected interference with radio altimeter equipment, especially at low altitudes.
