Brazilian Navy begins activities of new drone squadron

The Brazilian Navy held a ceremony for the activation of the 1st Squadron of Remotely Piloted Aircraft, EsqdQE-1 last Tuesday, 5th.

The use of remotely piloted aircraft will provide an increase in the Navy's capabilities in intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions. The new sector is subordinated to the Naval Air Force Command.

The squadron has six ScanEagle aircraft models, as well as two launchers and pickups for land and vessel operation.

According to the Navy, the Military Organization (OM) of the Operational Sector, subordinated to the Naval Air Force Command, the purpose is to contribute to the decision-making process of planning and employment of the Naval Power through the use of Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) .
