On July 29, Antonov Airlines announced that it will be illustrating the names of Ukrainian cities on the aircraft in its fleet. The action is a tribute to the country due to conflicts with Russia. The airline joined the “Be brave as Ukraine” campaign to recognize the bravery of Ukrainian citizens during the war.

The planes will be named after the cities that have been most affected since the start of the fighting.

Seven units of An-124 will receive the inscriptions: Be brave like Bucha, Irpin, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Okhtyrka, Kherson and Mariupol.

The An-28 turboprop will illustrate: Be brave like Chernihiv.

The An-158 will honor Volnovakha.

In addition, the An-225, the world's largest commercial aircraft, will not be forgotten. An An-178 will receive the writings with the name of Hostomel in allusion to the city where the giant was destroyed at the beginning of the conflict.

“On their wings, these planes will carry around the world the latest story of the Ukrainians who gave everything to save their homeland and resisted the Russian invaders. The names of Ukraine's hero cities must resonate across the planet. His feat inspires unity against common adversity, new conquests and victory.
