Embraer will launch an advanced passenger turboprop, which should be officially launched in early 2023, with entry into service scheduled for 2028. However, the manufacturer has already published a video on social media.

The computer images do not have information about the aircraft, however, it is known that it will have between 70 and 100 seats. Embraer intends to use the same fuselage as the E-jets in the project. The height of the plane draws attention. In the video, the fuselage appears to be only about 90 cm above the ground, much lower than usual.

The company says that the plane will have this height to facilitate access to cargo holds and for handling work, thus facilitating the operation of the plane at regional airports and without much infrastructure.

Generally, turboprops are made to operate in less structured airports. That height could provide the plane with an advantage.

One of the factors that made the lower height possible is the engines, which were installed in the tail. The wings accommodate the main landing gear. In addition, the aircraft will have a good cargo hold, which the rival ATR does not have.

The aircraft's operating cost is estimated to be around 15% lower than the ATR 72, offering more seats and more speed.

In addition to rivaling the ATR, Embraer wants the turboprop to compete with small jets, with up to 50 passengers. The model already has more than 250 letters of intent.

Aerodynamic tests were already carried out with the propellers in March.
