Collins Aerospace's MS-110 Fast-Jet reconnaissance system has been successfully tested. The test was performed for an undisclosed international customer.

The test was successfully completed for the first time on an F-16 fighter and is airworthy. According to Collins Aerospace, the F-15 is also integrated and airworthy with the state-of-the-art pod.

The equipment can also be used in drones, with the MQ-9 Reaper UAV.

The test validated the integration and flightability of the aircraft, as well as the performance of the complete system, limited to the requirements of tactical jet flight envelopes.

The new system offers a greater range, being able to carry out surveillance missions with greater efficiency. Air reconnaissance missions will also have a considerable gain. The pod is also able to detect targets in poor atmospheric conditions, offering advanced, multispectral imaging capabilities. Images can be shared using the datalink.

The successful completion of this trial demonstrates the readiness of MS-110 systems to support customers around the world,” said Lora Magliocco, Director and General Manager of Collins Aerospace Airborne ISR Solutions.

The test, according to the images released, took place with a Polish Air Force F-16C Block 52. The MS-110 pod is an evolution of the DB-110, which is also by Collins, and the Polish Air Force already uses it.
