LATAM Group wants 85% recovery by the end of the year compared to 2019

The LATAM Group expects to end the year 2022 with more than 85% of the operations it registered in 2019, a year in which the sector had not yet been affected by the pandemic. The recovery levels that the company exhibits are currently around 80%.

During the month of September, the company should operate around 1290 regular passenger flights, not counting cargo, which should be around 1300 flights.

Cargo flights are experiencing an increase worldwide, as companies strive to increase their dedicated fleet. The cargo market is even at higher levels than it was before the pandemic in many companies. For example, the aircraft occupancy rate reached 55.8% in the month of August, meaning an increase of 1.3% compared to the month of August 2019.

Returning to passenger flights, the RPK rate (passengers transported per kilometer) was 80.9% of that recorded in August 2019, while the ASK rate (Seat-Offered Kilometers) was 81.8%.

LATAM also made projections by market.

Brazil: The numbers already reached 89% of the operation registered in September 2019 in August. Thus, LATAM expects to maintain the level. However, the biggest recovery was in domestic flights, so the projection estimates values ""of domestic operations of 103% compared to the same month of 2019 and 72% for international flights.

Chile: The projection estimates 70% of the operation registered in September 2019. In August, the number was 69% recovery. The projection estimates values ""for domestic operations of 74% compared to the same month of 2019 and 68% for international flights.

Colombia: The projection estimates 115% of the operation registered in September 2019. It has already reached 109% in August. The projection estimates values ""for domestic operations of 138% compared to the same month of 2019 and 88% for international services.

Ecuador: 55% of the operation registered in September 2019. In August, it reached 51% recovery. The projection estimates values ""for domestic operations of 132% compared to the same month of 2019 and 31% for international operations.

Peru: 79% of the operation seen in September 2019 is expected. In August, there was a 78% recovery compared to 2019. It will be 91% of domestic recovery in September and 74% in international flights.

As for cargo transport, LATAM expects to achieve an almost complete recovery (96%) compared to September 2019. The transport of goods in the holds of planes should be around 70%. On the other hand, the transport of cargo in dedicated planes should be 153%.
