Maersk, the ocean freight company, launched Maersk Air Cargo in April this year. The company conducted a demonstration flight” between Asia and the US last week, so the company is approaching the official start of its air cargo operations. The company asked the American authority for permission to take over the operations of the former Stair Air, an air cargo company that also belongs to Maersk.

Star Air's own assets were passed on to the new company, including the aircraft. The fleet consists of 12 Boeing 767-200Fs and three Boeing 767-300Fs.

Initially the company should fly to the United States, but new routes should be added soon. In addition, the company's fleet is also expected to grow until 2024. The test flight left Seoul from Incheon Airport, South Korea, flying to Greenville-Spartanburg, South Carolina, United States.

The new carrier will be based in Billund, Denmark. The idea of ""investing in an airline subsidiary of the brand came about with cargo demand soaring during the pandemic.
