The former president of Azul, Antonoaldo Neves is the new CEO of Etihad Airways. The Brazilian was also the CEO of TAP. Tony Douglas was the one who had been in office since January 2018.

Former CEO Tony Douglas will take on new challenges at RIA, a Saudi Arabian airline that will start in 2023.

While at TAP, from 2017 to 2020, Antonoaldo led a series of changes that led the company to have more value, with better customer service and more passengers.

Prior to TAP, Antonoaldo was president of Azul from 2014 to 2017, when he led the company's IPO on the New York Stock Exchange.

"Etihad Airways is a world-renowned brand in the industry. I am excited to embark on this new role and build on the solid foundation left by Tony and the management team. I am confident that Etihad will thrive to new heights and continue its growth journey sustainable."

Etihad had an operating profit of $296 million in the first half, an all-time high.
