Embraer ends up gaining another market for the presence of its E190-E2 jets. The plane received its type certification from the Civil Administration of China (CAAC).
Embraer announced the certification yesterday, 10th, and China could become an important market for the low-density, high-altitude regional jet. The jet was the first model to fly through some of the world's highest airports west of China.
"The certification paves the way for significant business opportunities for the E190-E2 in China. There is data that reveals that one billion people living in China's smaller cities have never flown," said Arjan Meijer, Embraer's managing director.
“In addition to being the right size and the best fuel efficiency, the E190-E2 was born with the ability to operate in high temperatures and high altitudes,” according to Embraer China Vice President of Commercial Aviation, Guo Qing.
“It is the first aircraft in its category to fly to some of the world's highest airports in western China, including Lasha and Yushu. We believe the E190-E2 is the best aircraft to serve low-density high-altitude markets in western China with the right performance and more profitability.”
