European manufacturer Airbus said it was unlikely its previous plane delivery target would be met. The company expected to deliver 700 commercial aircraft to different customers in 2022, but is expected to deliver 70 fewer aircraft.

According to Airbus, the “complex operating environment” is the reason for the reduction. The company is experiencing the same supply chain issues that affect the entire world.

In addition, Airbus expected to deliver 75 A320 family aircraft per month, but this will not be possible either, with the company reducing the forecast to 65 jets per month for the next two years. However, the predicted rate is still 75 planes per month until 2025.

The manufacturer is based on the number of deliveries of commercial aircraft in the month of November, when it delivered 68 aircraft and received another 29 orders. Thus, the company's backlog stands at 7344 aircraft.

So far, 565 aircraft have been delivered to 70 customers. Total deliveries made by the company in the year 2022 will be revealed on January 10, 2023. How does this compare to rival Boeing's numbers?

This question can be very difficult to answer. However, it is known that Airbus is delivering around 65 A320 family aircraft per month, while Boeing is facing several problems and is delivering around 31 units per month of its narrow-body aircraft, the 737 MAX.
