Feira de Santana Airport wants to have a bigger structure, with more flights

Feira de Santana Airport (BA), which had its commercial operations recently resumed by Azul, operates only five weekly flight options, with round trip flights to Recife (PE). According to Antônio Valter de Moraes Lima, who holds the concession to manage the airfield, these flights almost always operate at maximum capacity.
Currently, flights to the capital of Pernambuco take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with landings at 2:15 pm and departures at 2:55 pm.
“The average is 100 passengers per day, traveling between Feira and Recife. It's a 70-seat ATR flight, so the answer is that the community is there, it's flying,” he told the Acorda Cidade website.
In this sense, Antônio Valter de Moraes Lima's intention is to increase frequencies and routes in the municipality. In addition, the administrator is looking for new airlines to operate at the airport, including air taxi and cargo transport services.
The businessman also said that Azul will comply with some bureaucratic procedures to carry out up to five daily flights leaving the Bahian city. “this is our expectation until the end of the year”. Feira de Santana airport is just over 100 km from the capital of Bahia, Salvador. The intention is for travelers from the capital to use Feira de Santana airport.
