The Carnival period, from yesterday (15th) to February 26th, will see a large movement at Rio de Janeiro International Airport – Tom Jobim International Airport. This heated demand for air travel is a direct reflection of the faster-than-expected post-covid resumption.

The RIOgaleão concessionaire predicts a movement 19% greater than that observed in 2022. There will be around 260,000 travelers. In addition, there will be an 85% increase in travel from abroad. The busiest days should be today (16) and tomorrow (17), reaching 25,000 tourists.

The majority of international passengers will be from Chile, Argentina, Portugal and France. Within Brazil, the largest number of passengers will be from São Paulo, Fortaleza, Recife and Foz do Iguaçu.

“The biggest party in the world starts here and we are already receiving our passengers and visitors with special carnival attractions. The airport is prepared to receive the countless tourists who will board and disembark at the terminal this holiday. We are committed to promoting the best experience for travelers, with already recognized operational and safety excellence”, says Alexandre Monteiro, president of RIOgaleão.
