Hong Kong's new carrier, Greater Bay Airlines, shows impressive growth in its fleet. The company began its commercial operations in the middle of last year and has already announced a purchase agreement with Boeing for 15 narrowbody 737 MAX jets, in addition to having committed to 5 787 Dreamliners.
Last month, sources linked to aviation confirmed that the company will acquire the 737-9 variant, which carries up to 200 people. As for the 787, the variant has not yet been specified.
Currently, Greater Bay Airlines operates a small fleet of just 3 Boeing 737-800s through leasing. Thus, the company is an exclusive operator of Boeing. Furthermore, the carrier only serves four routes from its Hong Kong hub. However, the addition of new planes will make it possible for the company to operate new routes.
