Images of an Emirates Airbus A380 with a new livery started circulating on the network recently. Despite being just images, they could be showing some commemorative painting from Emirates. However, today (16), the company has permanently confirmed its new livery.
Emirates managed to change the livery, mainly on the tail of the plane, but without completely changing its visual identity, so that anyone who is familiar with aviation will look and know that it is Emirates.
While the basic concept and design remained the same, the “Emirates” inscription is now 32.5% larger, with the UAE flag on the tail looking like 3D art. In addition, the painting of the tip of the wings of the planes was also changed.
The new livery will be applied to all planes in the fleet gradually. The aircraft that already has a new paint job is an Airbus A380 (A6-EOE), which will fly between Dubai and Munich, Germany, starting tomorrow (17).
Historically, Emirates has not changed its colors much. The start of the company's operations was in 1985, with its painting only being changed 14 years later, in 1999. In 2005, there was the introduction of the brand's logo on the belly of the plane. The only other change is this one taking place now in 2023.

“Aircraft livery is the most instantly recognizable brand property for any airline. It's a visual representation of our unique identity, something we wear with pride and display in every city we fly to around the world. We are updating our livery to keep it modern without losing key elements of our identity, such as the UAE flag on our tail and Arabic calligraphy,” said Tim Clark, President of Emirates.
