Embraer's E195-E2 jet is the largest commercial aircraft ever designed and built in Brazil, however, the plane can only accommodate up to 146 seats.

However, Embraer CEO Francisco Gomes Neto said the company has the necessary skills to produce an even bigger jet, with more than 150 seats.

The E195-E2 is 41.5 meters long, larger than the Airbus A320 and the Boeing 737 MAX 8. However, the plane accommodates fewer passengers because it is narrower. Thus, the seating configuration is only 2 2, unlike rivals, which is 3 3.

Embraer had already thought of such a jet, but the project was abandoned in 2011.

Gomes pointed out that producing a larger jet is not in the company's short-term plans, which is going through a good time due to the end of the covid-19 pandemic and the cancellation of the joint venture with Boeing. He adds that the development could be an opportunity for the future.
